BMU – Remba
HOMA BAY COUNTY, KENYA | RURAL ELECTRIFICATION
Renewvia Energy developed an off grid solar PV array with battery storage to supply power for preservation of daily fish harvest for the inhabitants of Remba Island. Currently a large percentage of each harvest spoils before reaching market. With electricity to power commercial coolers and ice makers, more fish will make it to market resulting in increased incomes for the fisherman and their families. The county entered into a Power Purchase Agreement with Renewvia for a negotiated price per kWh.
