Renewvia installed a rooftop array to help SteelFab offset the high electricity costs of its Georgia fabrication plant.
SteelFab, which has more than 1,000 employees in 14 locations across the Southeast and Texas, began partnering with Renewvia in 2016 to deploy an innovative strategy to reduce energy costs at rural factories and offset its overall carbon footprint. In addition to upgrading Steelfab's Georgia facility, Renewvia has installed similar solar arrays in Alabama, South Carolina and Virginia. Altogether, the four rooftop systems are generating 1.67 MW of solar power, cutting their combined power costs by nearly 50 percent and offsetting over 1,500 metric tons of carbon annually.
“Manufacturers are faced with large fixed power costs that will only increase over time,” said Renewvia co-Founder and President Trey Jarrard. “We’re proud to help SteelFab own as much power as possible and reduce operation costs at their plants.”
